First of all, I am a filipino. And I am not a fan of the boxer Pacman.Maybe i am a fan of Manny Pacquiao’s whole being , not only as a boxer, but also a father, a basketball player, coach, a preacher, a congressman and a singer etc.(I just hope though that he would not run as our president,hahahah..pls). I like how he inspired us in the pursuit of the topmost level of 
Maslow’s hierarchy of needs:Self actualization. Despite the hardships during his childhood and the imperfections of his Family, he was able to rise up to what he is right now. If he buys something big ,do not take it against him. If he buys expensive bags for his wife or mother,let him.The man deserves it. after all he is a good provider. he persevered for that. Because Today, he won a fight.:))
It is May2,2015 in MGM grand las vegas, and may 3 here in the Philippines.This is the day that everyone is excited about because it is the much awaited Pacquiao vs mayweather fight. Well, i am not really a sports fan. When it comes to boxing and manny pacquiao it seems like everyone becomes a sports analyst on his own right and i do not take it against everybody.( we just love our comments being heard and acknowledged. What we see and hear from everybody must be respected.) It seems as if that the world stops revolving when our Man,MANNY, fights in the ring. Well, Filipinos are lovers of boxing. And if everyone may ask why we are so dismayed on how mayweather won in this said “Fight of the century”, i must say it is deeply rooted in our culture that RUNNING away is not an answer;that if you say Boxing,it is really a fight. If you fight,you face it.you go for it. Whoever runs is the coward. The filipinos (or may be the fans all over the world) are expecting so much ACTION for this that waiting 5 years is a bliss for everyone.
We,fans,wanted to see action. Everyone wants action in boxing. Manny did most,if not all, of the action(with appropriate matching of defense and offense, of course)even though he had a shoulder injury(which mayweather considered as an excuse). We see less of that from mayweather, and we couldn’t blame ourselves if what highlighted in “his strategic style ” of boxing in our minds are HUGS,headlocks,sidepunches and run. 
As i try to see both sides,i tried to understand Mayweather. They say it is tactical boxing.They say Mayweather is undefeated because of his very distinct,defensive style. There is no doubt though that this was his way of compensating Manny’s speed and boxing instincts for he knew he can never win if he really fights. I also tried to view other nation’s perspective about this just to see whether we are really just turning bitter since we are Filipinos.But no, it seems as if everyone knows who the real champ is,and it is Manny. Aside from that, We know for a fact that Filipino boxers must always prove that they are greater fighter than the other foreign boxers by knocking their opponents out. This had been the hidden rule ever since. If they were not able to knock them out, they would have a lower score or draw result making way for the defending champion to win.
Yes,Floyd may be smart because he chose to run away and move around.But this got me to a deeper thinking, no matter how i try to rationalize and consider mayweather’s style as a good strategy,this is boxing. And the first word you can think and associate to boxing is PUNCHES,whatever the boxer’s strategy is. We did not see a lot of solid punches from Mayweather. Of course,he did but not as much as Pacquiao. they said we must just look at the scorecards because they do not lie.Ok they do not lie,but why wont we just look at the fight itself?Because the actual video recording surely and absolutely never lie. Well,this is BOXING redefined. and I accept(and you must,too) that he already WON by unanimous decision from the AMERICAN Judges in this fight on HIS hometown in Las vegas, in His Country,America.

Floyd Mayweather Jr,congratulations to you and your “The Money team”, (and to justin Bieber). But if one day people in the future will watch the recorded video of this game, will you proudly show them that this is how you play the game?By avoiding the punches and running and moving around and hugging…what do you call this strategy again?tactical boxing?defensive boxing?mayweather boxing?ah,thanks for introducing that..Go enjoy your victory.
To Pacman,we are still grateful though that you fought for our nation.you introduced Philippines to the boxing world. You did your best. you prepared hard for it,meaning you have respected you opponent. You did not fail. if you think your best is not good enough,that’s part of your thoughts. but there should be different match to that different style of game of his. Yours is action and he cannot do that. Keep on inspiring the people with your humility and unwavering faith to God. You proved that there is more than winning, money and fame. Sometimes,the winner and the champion are different persons. You are now celebrated as a happy,humble and kind hearted man. We pray for your happiness and good health especially you are a boxer.
If there is one thing that this MayPac taught us today, that is “you may be labelled as the greatest, but the crowd knows the best”
