Since we were not able to join the color manila day run at MOA last april 19, we registered to another color run. This time it was Blacklight edition.The event was held at Filinvest city, Alabang on may 16 and was sponsored by Brothers .
We were from weekday night shift but still this was what we decided to do on a saturday night. This was my first 10k, first night run and a first color run all in one. The event was held on alabang and it was also my first time to commute there with Crimson hotel as my only landmark. Too many first’s for this event that i even wanted to sing,” like a virgin,touched for the very first time”. We paid 850php at Toby’s days before the run. The race kit includes color packets,finisher’s medal, headlamp, drawstring bag, race bib and super comfy race shirts.
I brought my sis with me. Eventhough i was that tired, i felt excitement fuelling my body up. We rode Mrt up to ayala station and hopped on a bus with a signage Alabang. I just asked if it will pass along filinvest city. It took us almost an hour of travel, just in time to rest a bit,change clothes and deposit our baggage in the area.
This is the stage. 
Here we are. We were all ready to roll, i mean to walk. NO, i meant to “run”.
Gunstart was at 9. On the first few meters, there were no powders yet. We passed along a firetruck which splashed/ sprinkled us with water. Maybe to make the colors adhere to us. The color powder smells like powdered juice though. However, it made feel like i wanted to cough a lot.

We ran at our own paces but we tried as much as we could to be together. There were times that we get lost in the multitude of people but we eventually found one other .

We were approaching near the end so we took our time taking pics here on a road full of colored dust not caring about the time it was taking us to finish the run.Hey, It is non-competitive!hahhaha

They had several booths and one of those is for brothers.Everyone got a chance to spin a roulette you just have to endure long queues.
One lucky girl here was able to get a jackpot price-a laptop bag.i thought they were goin to give printers.haha

I didnt know how to go out of alabang area at that time.Good thing my friendly neighbors are here. They let us ride up to cubao terminal. Thanks guys.
Aftermath
Yes ,we commuted looking exactly like this. i was so tired to dust off myself..I cared less about people’s comments and stares.haha.They wondered where we came from .hahaha
REMINDERS OR TIPS:
- Bring extra clothes.(because you will really really be covered with powedered dust) If you do not want that, you can wear long sleeves and tights.
- please make sure you are healthy enough to participate. By healthy, i meant ,you do not have any respiratory conditions such as asthma or obstructive lung disease or allergies of some sort that might be triggered by the colored dust.
- You may opt to wear a mask.
- Bring or get some carton or newspaper so you will have something to sit on in a car or puv in the event that you failed to bring extra clothes.haha..we do not want to make the car seat dusty.
- You can also wear goggles,especially those who are wearing contact lenses.There are instances that the “powder guys” spill/throw the powder directly into you.
- You can try to dust off the color powder first.They said it is goin to be more difficult if you wash it with water immediately. As for me , i did not have any difficulty washing my clothes. After the washing, it seems as if, nothing happend to my fave running shorts and shoes.
